What Actually Happens at a Functional Workout + Social Brunch

A step-by-step walkthrough of our most popular event — what the training looks like, who shows up, and what happens afterwards.

The most common question we get before someone books their first Workout + Brunch is some version of: am I fit enough for this, and will it be awkward? Short answers: yes, and no. Here's the long version — exactly how the morning runs, start to finish.

Before you arrive

You book online and get a confirmation email with the exact meeting point, the time, and everything you need to bring. There's no membership, no subscription, and no commitment beyond the single event. Bring sportswear, trainers, water and a towel.

The workout (about 60 minutes)

We meet outdoors and start with a proper warm-up — nobody goes straight into intensity. From there it's a short calorie-burn block followed by a full-body circuit using kettlebells, dumbbells, bodyweight movements and the calisthenics bars on site.

The important part: every single exercise can be scaled up or down. Our trainer is certified and coaches in English, Spanish and German, and the focus is on doing movements correctly rather than doing them heavy. People who train five times a week and people who haven't exercised in two years do the same session side by side, at different intensities. That's by design.

  • Warm-up — mobility and activation, no pressure
  • Calorie-burn block — short, sharp, scalable
  • Full-body circuit — kettlebells, dumbbells, bodyweight, bars
  • Cool-down and stretching together

The brunch (optional, and where the real thing happens)

Afterwards, everyone who feels like it walks over together to a specialty coffee spot for brunch. This part is optional and you order and pay for your own food — but honestly, it's the half of the event that matters most.

You've just done something physical alongside these people. Conversation afterwards is effortless in a way that a networking event never manages.

Who actually shows up

A genuinely mixed crowd: expats who've been here a few months, digital nomads passing through for a season, Erasmus and international students, and Valencia locals. Ages spread widely. Roughly half the room at any given event is attending for the first time.

Group size is capped deliberately, so it stays a group rather than a crowd — which also means events do sell out.
